It's great to see that someone has finally taken the lead in developing a usable tool to help prevent, manage and treat patients with the care they deserve.

As an RN, I'm always astounded at how far behind the healthcare industry has been in the keeping an organized information story about patient's health profile. Think abou that: it's 2008 and we're still operating on archaic processes.

So much of health depends on information. I'm sure Google Health has a long time to go and we aught to ensure that the tool works securely and effectively. But too often in healthcare, remarkable opportunities are passed up in fear instead of doing the hard work of making healthcare better than it it.

Good for Google. It's a shame the rest of the world has been so far behind the times in creating a safer and more effective environment for patients.

I'd love to see additional comments about Microsoft HealthVault; and whether your believe Microsoft HealthVault and Google Health should fall under the FDA approval process in handling Patient data and integrating with provider applications.
