Post Election Vibe

It is hard not to write about what happened last night.  It seems inherent that bloggers have to write about elections.

The House moved into the Democratic aisle and Speaker-designate Nancy Pelosi is quoted as saying she would move for reform of Medicare Part D within her first 100 hours so that the government could negotiate lower prices.  That much was known prior to the election.

It has also been widely assumed that if such an effort were made, that the President would veto any such reform.

But what is not entirely clear is whether or not a veto still leaves the Democrats in a winning position on this issue, particularly for the next election cycle, which by the way, begins today.
